Prevent Clogged Downspouts with Gutter Guards
Whether you call them gutter screens, gutter guards, gutter helmets or gutter covers, they all serve the same purpose: to keep leaves and debris out of your gutters and downspouts. This means you won’t have to clean your gutters as often and they’ll be less likely to get clogged. American Roofing & Construction offers a range of gutter guards to fit your home’s existing guttering. These gutter guards aren’t visible from the ground and they’re a great home improvement investment for protecting your home.
★ Why Professionally Installed Rain Gutters Are Important
Next time it rains, pay attention to what happens to the rainwater when it gets to the edge of your roof. Do you see it coming down in sheets anywhere? Is it coming out of the downspouts as it should? Drainage issues can sometimes sneak up on you and your home’s guttering, or lack thereof, may be the cause.
Guttering & Gutter Guard Services
Prevent Water Damage
Improperly installed gutters cause water damage, roof leaks and ice dams. Guttering must be hung so it’s angled to direct the water toward the downspouts. It also has to be positioned so it doesn’t compromise the drip edge on the roof.
Protect the Foundation
Without gutters to catch rain, sheets of water flow right off the edge of the roof and onto the ground next to your home’s foundation. Over time, this will erode the soil and cause instability that can lead to cracks in the foundation.
Prevent Basement Leaks
Homes without gutters are more likely to experience leaks in the basement. Over time, the added water in the soil next to the basement walls causes them to shift and expand, which can cause cracks & allow water to seep into your home.
Expert Gutter Installation, Repair & Replacement
American Roofing & Construction goes above and beyond to make your gutter system failsafe. While most roofers put a drip edge over the underlayment, we install gutter apron, which goes under the underlayment. The gutter apron creates a longer edge that directs the water into the gutters instead of behind them. This helps prevent ice dams, rotting fascia, siding problems, and even foundation issues. We’re fully licensed and insured, so whether your home needs new gutters or gutter repairs, count on us for a detailed, professional job done right.

Contact UsFAQs
Which type of gutter is best?
All gutter types have their pros and cons, but we can help you choose the best gutters for your home. Most homeowners here in the Wichita area choose either vinyl or aluminum gutters because they’re lightweight, don’t rust, and they’re relatively easy to install.
How long do gutters usually last?
Gutter lifespans vary depending on the material they’re made from. In general, you can expect aluminum gutters to last around 25 years while vinyl gutters will last about 10 years.
What size of gutter is best?
Here in Kansas, we recommend either 5-inch or 6-inch gutters for both homes and businesses. That’s usually big enough to accommodate the Wichita area’s sometimes heavy rainfall.
